Marine Systems Engineering (Terengganu) Sdn. Bhd. (MSET) was incorporated in 1997 as a bumiputera owned company. It started a business as General Engineering Company and later focuses into Maritime Industry. In 2001 it has taken over MARA Shipyard & Engineering (Terengganu) Sdn. Bhd. through privatization exercise from Government of Malaysia. In 2002 it has bought over State Economy Development Corporation (SEDC) equity in Permint Engineering Sdn. Bhd.. Currently MSET Group of companies comprise of :-

MSET operate business from main office in Ampang, Kuala lumpur and three operational offices at Pulau Kambing, Gong Badak and Kemaman, Terengganu.

MSET Shipbuilding Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MSETsc) The company is operating business in shipbuilding specializing in building, inter alia, steel vessel, aluminum boats, wooden boats, ship repair ranging from emergency repair to docking. It has built more than 1000 boats and vessels of various designs, sizes and application. It was certified by DNV QMS ISO 9001: 2000 in 2003.

It focuses on manufacturing, maintenance and services of composite boat, inflatable boat and aluminium or composite RHIB. Currently awarded Petronas Vender Development programme for provision of maintenance and services of Norsafe Lifeboats.
